There are plenty of guides on sustainable travel practices. We've made a list to help you responsibly enjoy RED's Conservation Adventures
1. Start at home
- Choose a responsible operator (Well done!)
- Leave appliances in your home unplugged while you are away
- Pack light.
2. Use Your Own Water Bottle - aluminum, steel or plastic.
3. Practice low impact tourism
Your hosts and guides take great trouble to preserve the integrity of natural surroundings. Help them out by:
- Listening to and respecting their instructions
-
Don't go off the beaten path before asking your guide
-
Leave natural surroundings as you found them - so that others can enjoy the shells, sand dollars and plants
-
Leave wildlife alone - unless explicitly instructed by your guide (for instance, sea turtle monitoring)
4. Minimize your waste
We follow the pack out what you pack in theory. Consider this when packing or carrying disposable items.
5. Conserve water
Baja California Sur receives very little rainfall; please conserve water in your hotel room.
6. Buy from local artisans
If buying souvenirs, try to buy locally made products. The region is filled with wonderful artesania and handicrafts. In La Paz, don't miss out on the Casa del Artesano
7. Eat local foods
We'll take care of this!
8. If you have questions, please ask.
